About Arb Letter
Hey all, Arbitrage Andy here.
I started my career as a 22-year-old in Manhattan with about $5,000 to my name. Today I run a global media brand when I’m not spending time with my wife and two sons.
I’m a former Division I college athlete with degrees in history and political science. Before launching Arb Letter full-time, I spent nearly a decade in corporate sales across commodities, data, macroeconomic research, and global risk. Those roles gave me a front-row seat to the institutions, incentives, and decision makers that shape markets and the world around us.
Outside of work, I’m an outdoorsman, fisherman, athlete, and lifelong student of history. I value personal sovereignty, individual freedom, and independent thinking. Over the past several years, watching politics, finance, media, and technology converge fundamentally changed how I viewed the world. At the same time, I found myself increasingly disillusioned with corporate bureaucracy, office politics, and the growing pressure to conform rather than think critically.
In 2017, I launched Arbitrage Andy as a finance satire page on Instagram. What began as memes about Wall Street and office life quickly evolved into a much broader conversation about markets, geopolitics, technology, and culture.
The brand has since been featured in Business Insider, Financial Times, Dealbreaker, the New York Post, and HBO’s Industry. Along the way I’ve partnered with companies including Gemini, IEX, Trezor, Odyssey, Round Investments, ALP Pouches, and others.
But over time I realized there was a much larger opportunity than creating memes.
People weren’t just looking for entertainment, they were looking for clear, honest analysis that wasn’t filtered through corporate media, political talking points, or institutional consensus.
That’s why I launched Arb Letter in 2021.
Since then, Arb Letter has covered many of the defining events of this decade: the COVID era, inflation, the crypto boom and bust, the war in Ukraine, political and social unrest, the artificial intelligence revolution, and the structural shifts reshaping the global economy.
The goal has always remained the same: explain what’s actually happening, identify the incentives driving events, and help readers think independently rather than emotionally.
Along the way I’ve made numerous high-conviction market calls across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Nvidia, Palantir, artificial intelligence, defense, energy, and broader macroeconomic trends. I don’t claim to know everything, but I’ve found that questioning consensus, studying history, and following incentives often leads to conclusions long before they become obvious to everyone else.
Today, more than 34,000 readers across over 180 countries read Arb Letter to cut through the noise. The publication has become one of Substack’s top-ranked finance/crypto newsletters by focusing on what matters rather than chasing headlines.
My mission is simple:
Deliver straightforward analysis that helps readers understand markets, geopolitics, technology, and the broader forces reshaping our world, without the spin, sensationalism, or institutional groupthink.
If you want to understand what’s changing before it becomes obvious, and position yourself accordingly, you’re in the right place.
I appreciate you being here, and I hope you’ll join thousands of readers around the world who rely on Arb Letter each week.
