I commend you for saying out loud the many things that "no ones supposed to say" yet we all are clearly aware of. Also as a NY'er who moved to the suburbs of CT ( Milford, on the beach) after the birth of our 2nd Son, the dramatic decline of the city since the Giuliani administration has been shocking. Where in the past there were always safe places where things "didn't happen" that is no longer the case, not by a long shot. Mid town is a disaster no different than anywhere else. Side streets are packed with illegals milling around, lurking, and absolutely everyone is smoking marijuana or worse. This is not an accident. This was created with intent. Mamdani will speed the descent into complete chaos. History has shown us that no nation lasts forever - none. The man at 1600 Pennsylvania is certainly trying, but it takes a L O N G time for a ship as large as this nation to reverse course.

The Stalin era marked by work/torture camps, the criminalization of law abiding people (not actual criminals who were allowed to do anything) only came to an end ultimately because of Stalin’s death in 1953, and even then change didn’t happen overnight! What feels completely hopeless about our situation, and I’m in the US where we still have plenty of “room to run” anarcho tyranny wise (can’t imagine being in the UK), is that no matter who is elected, things continue to at least persist if not worsen. With Stalin, things were how they were because of stalin. Things got better when he died. With us, things don’t change from one president to the next. If things aren’t going to change when our leader changes, what’s it going to take????

Makes sense, but can you help me understand why? Why would some factions of our government, and other western governments want anarcho tyranny? I get the easy answer would be “control”, but to what end, and again, why? Call me dense, but that’s the part I struggle to wrap my head around

Not dense at all it’s the right question. The way I see it, anarcho-tyranny isn’t just about “control” in the abstract, it’s about shaping the population's behavior. When regular people feel unsafe and know they’ll get punished if they defend themselves, they get demoralized, they comply, and they stop pushing back.

It creates fear at the street level, dependency on the state (which they need), and a culture where the “protected” groups get free passes while everyone else is kept in line. That’s the endgame, soft control without needing open dictatorship. criminals are a proxy. it can get darker when you get into replacement, targeting certain groups, etc
