I mentioned awhile back I was going to experiment with some quicker hitting more timely updates from Arb Letter so this evening I wanted to do just that while I suffer from some bizarre cold/covid type illness for the second time in 3 weeks.
Tomorrow afternoon we will have our regularly scheduled markets and news update around 3pm ET.
Right now want to focus up on what might happen tonight. Things might be heating up in a big way.
President Trump is scheduled to deliver a prime-time address to the nation tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025) at 9:00 PM ET from the White House.
You should be able to watch it live on major networks and via streams like C-SPAN.
The White House has said Trump plans on focusing on what his administration has done over the past year and outline future priorities, framing the speech around achievements.
People online are speculating on what the speech could entail. Some think we are about to declare war on Venezuela, some think it could be Cannabis linked legislation, and some fringe groups even think it could be a declaration of Martial Law following the travel bans and shooting at Brown University last weekend.
This all comes at a highly volatile period for markets with U.S. equities selling off broadly as tech and growth names led the downside. Risk is fading across asset classes this week.
