Today’s post is a zinger — encompassing all aspects of financial doctrine, societal views, politics, and lifestyle.
Things are getting so incredibly absurd in the world right now that I wanted to write a piece that highlights the positive influences and forces in my life in the hopes that many of you can identify with the points I am making.
“Based” is a phrase that has become increasingly common these days.
I’d actually prefer to use another worse but for ease of explanation we’ll go with “Based” since this has been a pervasive internet sensation and meme for many years now.
Urban dictionary defines Based as the following:
A word used when you agree with something; or when you want to recognize someone for being themselves, i.e. courageous and unique or not caring what others think. Especially common in online political slang.
The opposite of cringe, sometimes the opposite of biased.
When used in online political language it can mean "based in fact"
To be clear — this phrase and descriptor is usually used ironically or in jest but more recently it’s been used seriously in juxtaposition to “woke” or “progressive” as we see society, politics, and communities increasingly become more absurd in their virtue signaling.

I’m going to steer clear of the classic terms of “alpha” or “chad” that are also used in manosphere and self improvement spaces online today because I feel that they are shallow and lacking in context for many of the people pushing them or promoting their usage. And for the record the use of the word “based” is used somewhat ironically in today’s post — though the ultimate point is to highlight how the people that “get it” are thinking about the issues around us.
For simplicity sake we will use “based” today.
Nowadays with prolific and widespread censorship, thought control, and propoganda — you are made to feel that being “based” or “red pilled” or “self sufficient” or “confident” or “independant” are bad things and there’s a reason for that. These things exist — if you’ve been paying attention it’s not “conspiracy” to acknowledge this, and I think many people underestimate how widespread and detrimental the endless stream of this information is. There’s a reason independant media and personalities are surpassing legacy news sources and institutionally backed media companies.
We explored this concept in depth in our post from a few weeks ago Do People Even Want the Truth Anymore and will build on the concepts covered in Indispensable Skills Moving Forward
Those who control our society, finances, markets, political laws, and community norms want you to be submissive. They want you to be docile. They want you to stay in your place and not pose a threat or issue to the way that things are being conducted.
More importantly — they want people who question the official narrative we are being told to be silenced.
This was evident with the following examples to name a few:
Tucker Carlson’s firing from Fox News over Anti Ukraine War stances
The recent decision by Activision to remove streamer Nickmercs operator skin from Call of Duty when he stated “ They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue” in response to a tweet by Twitch streamer Chris Puckett who commented “Americans are in a sad place right now. Let people love who they love and live your own life” in response to a video showing the brawl that broke out between Anti-LGBT protestors and Pro-LGBT demonstrators outside of a Glendale, CA schoolboard meeting.
BlackRock’s Larry Fink saying that BlackRock would "force behaviors" on "gender or race" and threatened impacts to compensation if diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) standards weren't met in a recent interview
Facebook and other social media giant’s censorship and “fact checking” of completely true information — like the lab leak theory that has since been affirmed by government reports, various news outlets, and popular figures among many other things'
Recently Amazon locked a Microsoft engineer out of his smart home devices for nearly a week after a delivery driver accused him of uttering a racial slur.
You are expected to fall in line, believe what you are being told, and support the current regime’s narratives or you will be dealt with.
Simple.
One of the things that I stand for personally and that’s a huge part of Arb Letter and the businesses I am building — is critical thinking, realism, and facing hard truths. People call us conspiracy theorists, radicals, Qanon, far right, toxic, and a whole other slew of insults that these days are actually compliments — since it means you are going against the grain and the masses to try and look at things objectively and understand the true implications of what’s going on around us to inform good decision making and strategy.
You don’t just take what you’re told at face value — you take the extra to step to understand:
Why am I being told this
Is this what’s actually going on?
What gatekeeping and systems are delivering me this information
Who stands to benefit from me buying into this assuming it is in fact not accurate
Understand — that there are powerful forces and groups at work ensuring that you do not get accurate or realistic information on the topics we are going to explore today — whether that’s financial market conditions, societal issues, geopolitical events, or political developments and realities in the US and the world.
The ramifications of these efforts to keep you in the dark, keep you unhealthy mentally and physically, and keep you submissive are alarming.
According to a new recent poll by Harvard CAPS-Harris, 70% of respondents said that they were either very or somewhat concerned about interferences by the FBI and other intelligence agencies in elections.
71% of men are working full-time currently in 2023 according to Bloomberg versus nearly 85% in 1980. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.4 million children, 1 in 4
live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Recent Pew research indicates that over 60% of young men are currently single and sexual intimacy is at a 30 year low (Lei & South, 2021).
We have to do better.
These are just a few of the trends that shed light on the impact on both genders but specifically men in this country. People are not free thinkers anymore. They’re not permitted or encouraged to be dangerous when necessary or challenging. Being fit, capable, in shape, and bold is looked down upon. They’re not allowed to question the official “narrative”. And all of this is not only detrimental to the state of the country, but it’s contributing to the growing theme of government and institutional overreach in our country.
At this point in this country — if you’re not “based” or don’t “get it” (you can call it whatever you want - enlightened, awake, street smart, etc.) you’re in for some tough times ahead alongside the masses of people who inadvertently find themselves distracted, misled, or confused about the way the world actually works and what the hell is going on from a higher level.
The key to success in all realms of life moving forward is likely going to be the ability to distill truth from fiction and reality from farce/propoganda — no matter how uncomfortable or how “against the norm” it is. This isn’t meant to be doomer porn or alarmist commentary — it’s me encouraging you to pause and take stock of what’s ACTUALLY going on around you so you know what to expect in the short to medium term.
People get angry or emotional these days when you dare to question the official narrative which is exactly why you should do just that.
Today we’ll cover the true implications of recent macro events, financial markets predictions, and why people are continuously living in la la land — as well as my favorite resources (books, websites, channels, etc.) for becoming aware and getting up to speed on the “based” way of viewing the world.
How based are you brother? Do you “get it” or are you destined to be one of the millions of sheep that define the current generation?
Let’s get it young based lords.
